Our facility proudly operates with 90% LED lighting and utilizes 100% renewable electricity. Each room is equipped with a central switch to minimize energy usage, complemented by water-saving toilets. We advocate for environmental conservation by inviting our guests to participate in our linen and towel reuse program, aimed at reducing water and cleaning resources. Additionally, every room is furnished with complimentary filtered water and efficient hand dryers. Our commitment to reducing our carbon footprint is further demonstrated by our gas consumption reduction, achieved through the installation of eco-friendly underfloor heating systems
Local Sourcing Commitment
In our dedication to sustainability, we actively minimize food transportation distances by prioritizing locally-sourced produce. Our focus is on seasonal ingredients from the UK, ensuring freshness and supporting community agriculture. We take pride in procuring our supplies directly from small-scale local farms and purveyors of organic meat from the South West of Britain, reinforcing our pledge to eco-conscious dining.
Ethical Sourcing and Procurement
We prioritize the use of organic, locally-sourced, and fairtrade-certified products whenever feasible. Our room amenities feature the esteemed Neal’s Yard Organic Remedies, reflecting our commitment to quality and sustainability. In our operations, we collaborate with an eco-conscious printing partner, utilizing FSC-certified paper and environmentally friendly inks, supporting the Forest Stewardship Council’s mission to manage forests responsibly.

Our establishment is committed to environmental stewardship, evident in our exclusive use of Eco-friendly cleaning agents such as BioD and Ecover. We implement reusable sponges and cleaning cloths, diligently laundered daily to ensure hygiene. To further diminish our ecological footprint, we utilize E-cloths designed to decrease the need for cleaning products. Moreover, we are in collaboration with a laundry service provider who shares our ethical values.

Our Commitment to People
We uphold an ethically responsible employment approach, ensuring all employees receive a living wage and benefit from pension contributions. Our commitment to fairness extends to our products, as we exclusively source Fair Trade-certified sugar, tea, coffee, and chocolate.
Community Engagement
We actively participate in beach clean-up initiatives and proudly support the ‘Surfers Against Sewage’ movement. Our community efforts include backing Tassy Swallow’s Surf Ratz, as well as events at the Surf House. We’re also contributors to the RNLI through our change collection box. Additionally, we champion the St Ives Skatepark community project by assisting in their fundraising endeavors.
Accomplished Initiatives
In 2018, we became a key part of the steering committee for #noplasticstives, playing a pivotal role in persuading local businesses to adopt eco-friendly practices. We introduced Keepcups at our establishment and now promote the use of reusable coffee cups by rewarding customers with a complimentary coffee. For all our local deliveries, we rely on an eco-efficient Bumble Bee electric moped.
